WPVI is reporting on the deaths of two people as the result of a two vehicle crash in Chester County on Sunday morning.

The time was approximately 8:00 AM in the southbound lanes of Route 202. WPIV and 6ABC.com maintain that the accident occurred along 202, between Swedesford and Mill Roads, in East Whiteland Township. Swedesford Road, however, is not close to Route 202. The nearest frontage road is Conestoga Road.

According to the State Police, 62 year old Melvin Baskerville was driving in the wrong direction on Route 202, proceeding in the southbound lanes, when he collided with a car coming in the opposite, correct direction. Monique Pierre, 32, was in the car impacted, that vehicle suffering a head on collision.

Both Baskerville and Pierre died at the scene.

There is no information yet available on the city of residence for either person, nor are there any details as to whether there were passengers in either car.

We will have more information on this accident as it becomes available.
